1. Grover¹ Elliott was born in Vincennes, IN August 8, 1919. Grover died February 9, 2008 in Elgin, IL, at 88 years of age.

He married Elaine R. Metzger in Elgin, IL, March 17, 1956. Elaine was born in Elgin, IL April 14, 1921. Elaine was the daughter of Louis Metzger and Ruth Elizabeth DuFree. Elaine died August 11, 2007 in Elgin, IL, at 86 years of age. Elliott's obituary from Elgin Courier News, 2-12-2008, is below:

Grover Elliott, age 88, of Elgin passed away on Saturday, February 9, 2008. He was born August 8, 1919 in Vincennes, IN the son of Grover and Margaret Thompson Elliott.

Grover was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ Elgin. He was also a member of American Legion Post 57 Elgin. He was a decorated WWII fighter pilot.

He is survived by one daughter, Patti (Dave) Keeler of Marengo; one son, Mike (Cathy) Elliott of North Aurora; grandchildren, Stacie and Tyler Rohlwing and Mackey Elliott; one great-granddaughter, Hannah; one sister, Lucille Cooper of MO.

Preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Elaine in August 2007; one sister; and one brother.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM on Wednesday, February 13, 2008 at St. Paul's United Church of Christ. Burial will be private. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 12, 2008 from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at Madison Funeral Home, 305 Park St., Elgin.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul's United Church of Christ or Hospice of Northeastern Illinois.

Grover Elliott and Elaine R. Metzger had the following children:
