4. William J.² Hershfeld (William Peter¹) was born in Maywood, IL February 24, 1903. William died July 24, 1992 in Edgewood, Maryland, at 89 years of age.

He married Mildred R. Hersfeld. Mildred was born in Maryland 1905. William Hershfeld's birth certificate states he was born in Maywood, IL where the family lived on 10th Street. In the 1930 census William is listed as married, head of household living in Baltimore, MD with his wife, Mildred. Mildred's father was born in Virginia and mother born in Maryland. The census listed their 3 children: Jean, age 7, Louis, age 6, and Ann, age 4. Also living with them were Estelle Hess, age 40, and Ralph Johnson, age 43.

William J. Hershfeld and Mildred R. Hersfeld had the following children:
