7. Ludwig Martin2 Engebretson (Christian1) was born in Albion, WI February 4, 1889. Ludwig died December 27, 1949 in Black River Falls, WI, at 60 years of age. His body was interred December 31, 1949 in Black River Falls, WI, Little Norway Church Cemetery.
He married Louise Marie Gilbertson in Winona, Minnesota, February 6, 1910. Louise was born in Irving, Wisconsin March 2, 1889. Louise was the daughter of Lars (Louis) Gilbertson and Mattie Benson. Louise died April 14, 1963 in Black River Falls, Wisconsin, at 74 years of age. Her body was interred Aprin 16, 1963 in Black River Falls, WI, Little Norway Lutheran Church. According to Ludwig Martin Engebretson's obituary, Ludwig was the son of Christian and Sophia Wold Engebretson and was bor in the town of Albion, WI on February 4, 1889. He died on Tuesday, December 27, 1949 at the age of 60 years.
Ludwig had been ill for several years after suffering a heart attack. He was taken to the hospital in Madison, WI by his daughter, Mrs. Warren Lyons about a month or so before his death and spent 2 weeks there under tratment. He felt improved and upon leaving the hospital had traveled to Illinois where he visited his 6 married daughters. He returend home, attended church services in Little Norway on Sunday and on Tuesday had gone to town for the afternoon. He suffered a heart attack just as he was entering Robert Flugstad's store and died at once.
Ludwig married Louise Marie Gilbertson on February 6, 1910 in Winona, Minnesota. They had since made their home in the town of Irving where he engaged in farming. Nine daughters were born to them: Muriel, Clarice, Lillian, Edna, Janice, Marian, Avis and Verna Mae. Verna Mae died in 1928 at the age of nine months.
At the time of his death he was survived by all of his siblings: 4 sisters, Agnes (Mrs. Peter Peterson - Disco, WI), Clara (Mrs. Archie Jones - Glendive, Mont.), Sylvia (Mrs. Marvin O'Grady - Seattle, WA) and Christina (Mrs. Forrest Farrand - Fountain City, WI) and 1 brother, Carl Engebretson of Hudson, WI.

1928. Warren was born in Manchester, WI November 18, 1907. Warren died June 20, 1956 in Black River Falls, WI,

Clarice Jeanete Engebretson was born August 4, 1913. She married Roy P. Meyers in
Illinois, July 29, 1939. Roy was born in McHenry, IL July 11, 1913. Roy died April 6, 1971 in Woodstock,
IL, at 57 years of age. His body was interred April 8, 1971 in Woodstock, IL, Calvary Cemetery.

Lillian Berdine Engebretson was born in Black River Falls, WI September 24, 1915. Lillian died August 18,
1998 in Elgin, IL, at 82 years of age. Her body was interred August 22, 1998 in Dundee, IL, Dundee Cemetary. She married Wilmer Henry Reimer in Crystal Lake, IL, January 21, 1937. Wilmer was born in
Barrington, IL January 04, 1916. Wilmer was the son of Heinrich (Henry) Reimer and Martha Klingenberg. Wilmer
died September 6, 1997 in Elgin, IL, at 81 years of age. His body was interred September 9, 1997 in Dundee, Kane County,

Edna Irene Engebretson was born in Black River Falls, WI September 20, 1918. Edna died September 29, 1982

Woodstock, IL, at 71 years of age. She married Earl Freund. Earl was born in McHenry,

Marian Engebretson was born in Black River Falls, WI August 11, 1922. Marian died April 2, 2007 in
Woodstock, IL, at 84 years of age. She married Harold Thurow. Harold was born November 20,
1912. Harold was the son of Herman F. Thurow and Catherine E. Henning. Harold died May 7, 1981 in Woodstock, IL,
at 68 years of age.

months old.

Avis Lucille Engebretson was born in Black River Falls, WI July 15, 1931. Avis died November 27, 1994 in
Bismarck, ND, at 63 years of age. She married Eldon Jensen October 1953. Eldon was divorced

Avis L. Jensen, 63, 1120 S. Third St., died November 27, 1994, in the Mandan nursing home. Services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck, with the Rev. Duane Wacker officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck.
Avis was born July 15, 1931, in Black River Falls, Wisconsin, the daughter of Ludwig and Louise (Gilbertson) Engebretson. She was raised and educated in Black River Falls. She moved to North Dakota in 1953 and to Bismarck in 1970. She was active in the Homemakers Club and American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Terry and LeRoy Kuss, Bismarck, Kim Langer and Dale Lingert, and Linda and Robb Teeters, Wamsutter, Wyoming; three sons and one daughter-in-law, Kerry, Wade and Betty, all of Rock Springs, Wyoming, and Chad Salt Lake City, Utah; grandchildren, Nadine and Loren Benedict, Malanie and Adriana Kuss, Kelly Brown and Shawn Jensen, Tony and Nealie Teeters; one great grandson, Aaron Benedict; and two sisters, Marian Thurow, Woodstock, Illinois, and Lillian Reimer, Elgin, Illinois.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters; and one granddaughter.
