Chuck Vanderford

47. Charles Homer¹¹ Vanderford (William Austin¹⁰, John Austin⁹, Austin Comer⁸, William⁷, John⁶, Richard⁵, Charles⁴, George Paul³, Michael Paul², Paul¹) was born in Gladbrook, Tama County, IA January 15, 1917. Charles died May 18, 1982 in Elgin, IL, at 65 years of age. His body was interred May 22, 1982 in Elgin, IL, Lakewood Memorial Park.

He married Sybil Mae McBurney in Elgin, IL, February 26, 1939. Sybil was born in Butler, OK May 5, 1917. Sybil was the daughter of Robert Ernest McBurney and Mary Agnes DuFree. Sybil died November 21, 2010 in Elgin, IL, at 93 years of age. Her body was interred November 27, 2010 in Elgin, IL, Lakewood Memorial Park. "Chuck" graduated from Elgin High School, Elgin, IL, at age 16. He served as a laborer in the Civilian Conservation Corps at Jefferson Barracks, Missouri in 1934. He worked for Illinois Bell Telephone Company in Chicago and northern Illinois suburbs for nearly 40 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Elgin, past president of the Illinois Bell Telephone Company Pioneers, and the Illinois Bell Telephone Company Life Members Club. He retired at Elgin, IL in 1977 to play golf and fish, but died of a massive heart attack just 5 years later while playing golf at Spartan Meadows Golf Course, Elgin, IL.

55 i. Judith Lynn¹² Vanderford was born in Elgin, IL July 26, 1940. She married twice. She married Ralph Wayne McElyea in Elgin, IL, January 30, 1960. Ralph was born in West Frankfort, IL June 20, 1935. Ralph was divorced from Judith Lynn Vanderford in Elgin, IL, February 17, 1978. (See Ralph Wayne McElyea for the continuation of this line.) She married William George Luscher in Elgin, IL, February 14, 1979. William was born in Oak Park, IL October 11, 1940. William is the son of Joseph Luscher and Lucille Langhman.

Judith was divorced from Ralph Wayne McElyea in Elgin, IL, February 17, 1978. While married to Ralph McElyea, Judy adopted Ralph's children from another marriage: Peggi (Joe) Perilli, Terri (Dale) Joiner, and Annette L. (John) Beisner. Peggi was born March 7, 1956 in Elgin, IL. Ann and Terri (twins) were born in Elgin, IL on January 20, 1958. Ann died at age 26 in March 1984 of viral menengitis at St. Joseph's Hospital, Elgin, IL. Ann is buried in Lakewood Memorial Park, Elgin, IL.

Following Judy and Ralph's divorce in 1978, Judy married Bill Luscher. Bill had custody of his two sons born in Elgin, IL from a previous marriage: Brian (December 28, 1968) and Jeff (April 1, 1969).

57 iii. Penny Lee Vanderford was born in Elgin, IL March 14, 1944. She married Charles Bernard Mensik in Elgin, IL, January 25, 1964. Charles was born in Elgin, IL January 4, 1943. 58 iv. Pamela Lee Vanderford was born in Elgin, IL March 14, 1944. She married Joel David Prickett in Elgin, IL, August 20, 1965. Joel was born in Elgin, IL February 27, 1943.
